Les regles del joc estan canviant. Utilitzar expressions en anglès en entorns empresarials de caràcter internacional és cada cop més comú, especialment quan es tracta d’argot referit als negocis. Aquest és el motiu del post d’avui: presentar-te expressions de business english que potser mai havies sentit, que són innovadores i que et poden ser molt útils en el teu dia a dia a l’oficina.

És veritat que utilitzar business english no et fa un bon líder, però et pot ajudar a estar ben posicionat en el teu lloc de treball i a millorar el teu idioma tècnic per no passar desapercebut.

Per què deixar passar l’oportunitat d’aprendre algunes d’aquestes expressions en anglès? Segur que podràs utilitzar-les en les teves pròximes juntes, reunions o fins i tot en entrevistes de treball, aquí et deixem unes quantes:

1. get/have your ducks in a row

• significat: preparat, actualitzat
• exemple: “I’m trying to get my ducks in a row ready for the next big meeting.”

2. blue-sky thinking

• significat: el fet de trobar idees completament noves sense la necessitat de tenir aplicació pràctica. Pluja d’idees.
• exemple: “l think that optimist and blue-sky thinking could be the key to moving this organisation forward.”

3. joined-up thinking

• significat: pensar les coses de forma intel·ligent i integrada, sense centrar el pensament en un únic punt o una única direcció.
• exemple: “This is a complex issue that ‘s going to need some joined-up thinking from all our departments.”

4. low-hanging fruit

• significat: oportunitats o opcions fàcils d’assolir.
• exemple: “Some sales deals that are easier to close than others, so why don’t we stick to the low-hanging fruit for our first year.”

5. move the needle

• significat: obtenir resultats rellevants o mesurables.
• exemple: “From the end-user perspective, this upgrade has really moved the needle.”

6. thinking outside the box

• significat: tenir pensament creatiu.
• exemple: “Do not focus on the Obvious. Try to think outside the box. “

7. it ‘s on my radar

• significat: tenir alguna cosa en compte.
• exemple: “Working on the stock exchange was not even on my radar when I was young.”

8. singing from the same hymn sheet

• significat: estar d’acord.
• exemple: “He ‘s really on my wavelength. We sing from the same hymn sheet. “

9. peel the onion

• significat: explorar les causes d’un problema.
• exemple: “We had to peel the onion to thoroughly understand what the issue was.“

10. push the envelope:

• significat: assolir nous límits. Anar més enllà de les possibilitats d’alguna cosa.
• exemple: “Our market demands that we push the envelope, but we’re on a really tight budget.”
